Vinnie's Favorite Dog Biscuits

Joe Fugere, owner of Seattle’s Tutta Bella (, shares with CityDog readers a recipe for his four-legged buddy, Vinnie. While Fugere doesn’t actually have a dog of his own, Vinnie is his partner in crime when neighbor Ed is out of town or in need of a dog sitter. According to Fugere, “These homemade dog biscuits are Vinnie’s favorite.” They can be made with a dog bone cookie cutter or simply cut into strips.

Vinnie's Biscuits
2 ½ cups whole wheat flour
½ cup vegetable oil
2 vegetable bouillon cubes dissolved in ¾ cup boiling water
¾ cup  finely chopped carrots
¼ cup finely chopped celery

Cooking Instructions: 1. Preheat oven to 300 degrees. 2. Mix ingredients into a workable dough and roll out to about ¼” thick. 3. Cut with cookie cutter or roll into strips. 4. Place on ungreased cookie sheet and bake for 30 minutes.
