5 Twitter Accounts Every Petpreneur Should Follow

Written by Brandie Ahlgren, founder+editor | CityDog Magazine

Looking for a little inspiration to start your day? Business advice? Or, simply a good laugh? Well, look no further. Here are five of our favorite twitter accounts every petpreneur should follow.

Working With Dog. Brand expert and serial petpreneur, J.Nichole Smith shares advice and tips on building an awesome brand. Find tips on how to streamline your content marketing strategies, create videos that look professional, build an audience and engage with them on social media, and more. Oh, and enjoy cute pictures of her French bulldog Charlie! As if this one-woman powerhouse hasn't done enough, Nichole is also the author of Million Dollar Dog Brand. It's packed with inspiring, battle-tested strategies that any petpreneur can use to improve just about every metric that matters in their business!

BlogPaws. Whether you're a blogger or a business owner looking for social media tips, BlogPaws is a great resource. With a motto like "shaping social media excellence, influence and education one amazing pet parent at a time," who can go wrong? Find social media tips on maximizing the power of Twitter to drive traffic to your website, tips for starting your own (and most importantly) profitable blog, and something near and dear to my heart, "how to write pitches editors can't ignore."

Pet Boss Nation, a business consulting service for "pet bosses," provides loads of information for burgeoning petpreneurs including success stories, links to business-minded articles, inspirational memes (hey, we all need a little inspiration to get through our day, right?), podcasts, upcoming pet industry tradeshows, and a whole lot more. If you're a pet-industry business owner, especially a small pet-industry business owner, this Twitter feed is for you.

Women in the Pet Industry provides a weekly (every Monday to be exact) post "to start your week off well," with links to articles on hiring the right people, living in the moment, staying young at heart and being mindful plus it's a place to learn about fellow female petpreneurs.

As a petpreneur, of course you already follow Entrepreneur, right? Well, just in case, we've included it here. Their feed is filled with article after article on subjects like Facebook features you may be missing, the 60-second elevator pitch, franchising, and this one we're not so sure about: "How to Eat at Your Desk Without Offending Others." Huh? Anyway, it's a great feed to find little nuggets of business wisdom from business experts.
