Indigo Rescue: Finding innovation in fundraising

Set on a pituresque ranch in Beaverton, Oregon lives Indigo Rescue a place most dogs would think of as doggie utopia, with its fields of plush green grass surrounded by the beauty of nature. This non-profit organization rescues animals that have been abused, abandoned and/or in need of veterinary care; animals such as Imman an adorable German shepherd puppy found starving, Fresno a dog that was left for dead after being shot in the shoulder, or Savannah who was severely beaten by her owner.

In a down economy, Indigo Rescue needed to be innovative in its fundraising, so they created Oregon Canine University, a cage free boarding facility located on Indigo Ranch. At OCU dog’s are allowed to run free or watch TV in the three inside and outside dormitories offered.

In addition, they created Dig My Dog, which offers one-of-a-kind custom vinyl car decals featuring your precious pet with funds directly supporting the rescue. The idea was borne after decorating Indigo Rescue’s “Canine Express Bus” with vinyl images of the rescued dogs. Hence, Dig My Dog was borne.
