Dog Friendly Weekend Events – June 28 – 29, 2014

Saturday, June 28

Doggie Drag Costume Contest: Capitol Hill Pride Festival; Seattle, Wash. 11:30 a.m. Cost: $5 suggested donation to benefit the Seattle Humane Society Pet Project, helping clients with AIDs. Doggie Parade from 11:30 p.m. to noon at the Main Stage between Roy and Mercer Street. Who knows? Your pup could win Best in Category or Best in Show by wearing an outrageous costume.

AHELP Heads and Tails Project; Seattle, Wash. 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. Cost: Free. Take your dog to the dog-friendly Norm’s Eatery and Ale House in Fremont and enjoy lively conversation with animal lovers who want the best care for their animal family over their lifetimes, especially in their golden years.

Sunday, June 29

Bow Wow Luau Adoption Event; Kirkland, Wash. 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at Denny’s Pet World 12534 120th Ave NE. Cost: Free. Join Pawsitive Alliance, and 16 animal rescue groups from all around Washington, for raffles and giveaways, refreshments, and good times! You will find more than 100dogs and cats of all ages, sizes, colors, and personalities ready for their forever homes.

Second Chance for Pets 2014: Whiskers, Tails, and Ferals; Napa, Calif. 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Cost $35 to benefit shelter animals. Enjoy wine and food samples, and live entertainment, while perusing the silent auction and helping pets to find their forever homes.
