#WhynotMEpet of the Week: Nana

My name: Nana (female) My age: Three years

Adopt me at: Auburn Valley Humane Society

About Nana: Nana is a playful young girl looking for a dog savvy home. She can be shy around new people, so no young children who don’t know how to resist her cuteness quite yet. Nana gets along with some dogs, and would love to meet any potential canine siblings before going home with an adopter. Nana is food motivated, so getting over her shyness is much easier. Just give her some pieces of hot dogs and you will be best buds!

Nana will bring toys to you so you can play tug of war, and when you’re all tired out she might crawl in your lap for a nap! Nana is goofy, playful, and cuddly, she will make an awesome dog for the right people who will be patient with her as she adjusts. She is still young so a consistent and accommodating home will help her thrive into a less anxious pup. Even though she is nervous, she is such a happy dog and her big smile is totally contagious!

#WhynotMEpets is a statewide campaign that gives cats and dogs needing more care and attention a greater chance of finding a home as quickly as possible. Its mission focuses on animals that have been homeless for two months or longer; are elderly; have behavior or medical needs; aren’t thriving in the shelter environment; or make up a large percentage of the shelter population, such as bully breeds. These are the animals asking “Why not me?” To learn more, visit pawsitivealliance.org/whynotmepets.
