#WhynotMEpet of the Week: Kenzie

My name: Kenzie (female) My age: 6 1/2 to 7 years

Adopt me at: Forgotten Dogs Rescue.

About Kenzie: After four years with Forgotten Dogs Rescue (FDR), it is Kenzie’s turn to find her forever home. She is the definition of a “pocket pit bull” weighing in at a little under 40 pounds and from her description on her profile on the FDR Petfinder.com page, she is a favorite of the rescue organization.

Kenzie just loves her people and if she had her way, would cuddle all day long. She gets along very well with the other dogs in her foster home, but has developed some reactivity to other dogs on walks and in public (her foster mom is working with her on this and the work will need to be continued).

Kenzie is a low to medium energy pooch due to her back leg and spine issues (more on that in her profile). She’s not a dog who can go on long walks or hikes, but enjoys short strolls around the neighborhood or running around in the backyard like a goofball for a few minutes, then coming back inside to curl up under her blanket and cuddle with you. She has a particular fondness for garden hoses, and watching her go nuts over the spray is hilarious!

#WhynotMEpets is a statewide campaign that gives cats and dogs needing more care and attention a greater chance of finding a home as quickly as possible. Its mission focuses on animals that have been homeless for two months or longer; are elderly; have behavior or medical needs; aren’t thriving in the shelter environment; or make up a large percentage of the shelter population, such as bully breeds. These are the animals asking “Why not me?” To learn more, visit pawsitivealliance.org/whynotmepets.
